The exhaust system is like nothing on the market and is 5" of T304 stainless steel goodness. What separates the downpipe from the rest is something new with the divorced wastegate design.
Since the majority of Subaru customers have extensive modifications such as larger bolt-on turbochargers, this exhaust system is designed to exploit that by running the 3” dowpipe’s centerline on the exhaust wheel and the 2” wastegate dump tube’s centerline with the wastegate flapper valve. The other item altered from the norm was a divider at the turbocharger flange. The reason this was found in testing that it hurt wastegate performance since the majority of the aftermarket turbochargers swing open in a fashion that dumps wastegate exhaust directly into the divider hurting flow. This is often why “bellmouth” designs have better boost pressure control. Also by forgoing this divider, the system will work with turbochargers that have a divided exhaust housing from the factory.
The exhaust system is designed to deliver a smooth tuned deep base sound any Subaru Boxer engine lover is sure to enjoy. Critical muffler design and a large straight through resonator provide unrestricted power and flow while keeping sound levels moderate and drone out. For those who want to keep things as quiet as possible a muffler tip silencer is included free with every full exhaust or cat-back system.
The two piece downpipe design allows you to adapt this exhaust for use in newer applications but more importantly it allows us to offer a bolt-in 50 state legal catalytic converter in the most ideal location for maintaining maximum HP.
